New Stuff

Lot’s going on. Dad went in for bypass surgery. It went smoothly, the blockage had not done any damage, and his heart is stronger than most they’ve seen. He came home Sunday but had to go back into the hostpital Monday to take care of some pneumonia.

I did find out that there is a Super Wal-Mart in Lebanon, TN that can replace a tire at 5:30PM on a Sunday evening. Which is good, cause I had one. Also, the 840 bypass is there which takes you from 40 to 65 without getting close to Nashville or Franklin.

If you get a chance listen to a new band I’ve found named Eisley. They’ll be on Conan Friday night.

Friday!

Posted on August 10, 2007

This is the first Friday of the new school year and I’m ready for it. I’ve been getting up earlier to get the kids to school, but have yet to adjust my bed time. This makes me a sleepy boy. Tomorrow Brady is having his birthday party. Sno cones and slip-n-slide fun for all. Then Sunday is our kick-off pool party with Abbey’s Indian Princess tribe. Oh, and did I mention I have to do my taxes. Yep, I’m one of those that filed for an extension. You know, I used to think my postings were just one big blog because I typically wrote them on my Treo with a tiny keyboard, but now that I’m using the WordPress editor, I’m still doing the same thing. Tonight is open dojo night and Benjamin wants to work his nidan kata. Mary and I are working on a Bo-Sai kumite kata. We have one one video, but I think we’ll want to customize it a bit.

Snape Is ???

Posted on August 6, 2007

School starts Wednesday. Time to get back into the routine. Ben and I have finished Deathly Hallows. Turns out I guessed correctly about Snape and why he did what he did, at least to a degree. But as for guessing who dies in HP7, not even close. It was a fun story. Got me back in the mood to read again, so I downloaded some books to my Treo and will see what I can do. If you’re like me and procrastinate, then be aware that it is time to do taxes. August 15th for those of us who filed for extensions. Speaking of money, if you’re wrestling with debt, give Dave Ramsey a look-see. He has some common sense ideas on the topic.
