SEO and Left Hooks

Posted on August 14, 2008

Tuesday was our MeetUp with the topic of Search Engine Optimization. John did a great job and there were lots of questions. It also generated a few ideas for future topics.

That night we did free sparring in class. I worked with Bill who is an exceptional kick-boxer. Somewhere around the 8th hook to my head I raised my arms and asked what I was doing wrong. We had a good work out and I picked up a few tips.

Then I went home and ate some chicken. The End.

Go Dawgs!

Friday night we loaded Em’s car and van with much dorm stuffings. Saturday we hit the road at 8AM. Drove onto campus and found the coliseum. We parked, walked inside and a student helper pointed us to the table tagged with her dorm name. We walked up, got her room assignment and directions to the dorm. Back to the cars, drove to the dorm, pulled up to the curb, and unloaded everything onto the sidewalk. By the time I got back from parking the van, a crew of student helpers had already moved her stuff to her room. Well almost, Ben remembered her room as A103, then we learned it was 310A. So up we went and started unpacking, running extension cords, and building a lamp. By 6PM we left and Emily was headed to a BBQ. It went very well.

On the way home we stopped at a Red Lobster to eat. About 80% through the meal, Abbey is helping Ben open crab legs, and finds one that looks like it has an eye. She shouts, “Ooow ooow ooow, is that an eye?” We laughed caused she didn’t wince at ripping the legs apart.

We rolled back into Madison around midnight.

Sunday, I died, as in my halfing rogue died. Well not really, the DM took us prisoner and a new player, Rob, along with Phil will rescue us.

Routines Return

Posted on August 8, 2008

Now that school is back in session many of my routines are starting up again. Since Brady is at the middle school this year, it is only Abbey and I doing the morning school commute. We have fun. I guess Indain Princess will be starting up too. Even more fun.

Today I finally make it to the Red Cross and get back into my Apheresis routine. I encourage you to join me sometime. It takes a couple of hours, but does not leave you as tired as a whole blood donation, IMHO. I guess that’s because you get to keep your red blood cells. Plus, they have cookies.

I seem to be back into my workout routine. Rob talked to me last night about trying to partner up more. He had been nursing a back injury but seems to be back to normal. So we’re going to start training for our Nidan. We had quite the workout last night. Ended the evening with some grappling. Note to self, do not eat lasagna before class. I love Carol’s lasagna, but it almost killed me.

Thinking of starting a new routine. The 100 Pushups in 6 weeks thing that is hot right now. Anybody else doing this?
